if you have an account linked you can delete any thread with your linked username

This has nothing to do with laziness. You own the account, but not the thread.
We've never deleted, as far as I've been aware (and long before this issue has even occurred), threads made by others as they do not violate our rules. They are banned, but threads in the MC account section can also go toward the history of the account.

Say you have an account linked and it's a scam account/they have info on the account that you aren't giving out/you've scammed with that account. The scammer can then just go onto these threads & delete the thread, making more people susceptible to being scammed.

Also, it's not staff-laziness, you shouldn't be able to delete threads that weren't made by you unless they're slandering your name.
