This is a suggestion and complaint rolled into one.

Make sure your moderators actually explicitly tell the person what rule they are breaking. Not just "hey you're being warned for breaking a rule". That's fucking bullshit. Imagine if you got pulled over and a cop was all "hey you're getting a ticket for breaking a law, surprise motherfucker, now you figure out which one". This wouldn't be that big of an issue if this forum's ruleset wasn't the size of a Stephen King novel (figuratively). But because participating on these forums is like walking on egg shells, you really just don't know.

This is in response to Jack, the worst mod on these forums. He warns without telling what rules are broken. Then on top of that, goes on to tell me if I have any questions that I can reply back to the conversation, but no, actually I can't, because he disabled it.

Come on MCM, get some quality mods. Ditch the incompetent ones, or come up with some internal policies that all moderators MUST follow.

The rule that you are breaking is incorporated into the subject and message sent to you when the warning is issued.

Telling someone ok is not meaningless. It has meaning, it's telling them you agree with the shortest amount of effort. This is why these forums fucking suck. You guys are so anal about your rules, and often are wrong when warning people for insignificant reasons.

Would it have been better if I dragged it out and said "ok, you're right, so sorry for disagreeing with you. I've dragged out my response so it has meaning, because simply saying ok is not good enough for moderators". Would I have been warned then? The point is, you guys need to actually see post for what they are and stop being so damn pretentious with your moderator duties. Some people like to be brief with their answers. It doesn't mean it's meaningless or bad.

I request this warning stricken from my record.

Now to the actual suggestion... It's asking that you folks are specific. Tell the offender which rule (by number) they are breaking.[DOUBLEPOST=1454782043,1454781944][/DOUBLEPOST]Denied without discussion. Good time to be part of this Stalinist community. /sarcasm

A lot of the times the staff say ''because it's in the rules'' and never really motivate what's wrong with it. It'd be nice if people could motivate what they enforce :/ Not explaining it usually leads to either confusion or frustration that it isn't clarified and when staff doesn't even know why they enforce the rules they do, some people may question why they're even there.

Exactly. Very well put. Even more frustrating and insulting when they deny this very suggestion without giving it any time for discussion. If Mick cared about his investment (this forum), He'd replace his entire staff, or give them a firm talking too. They need to learn how to manage and moderate a community properly. Not lock this shit down like Nazi Germany.

Why was this declined so quick? If I understand correctly, it doesnt explicitly tell you what you said/did, and is very vague. It can cause confusion, and should be fixed.

If you have questions about a warning, reply to the conversation and they will respond. If you can't reply for whatever reason, send them a separate PM.
