Need advice for server (minecraftservers.org slot)

Hi, I am wondering if it is better to buy a featured slot on minecraftservers.org in like early-mid january or during spring break? Which is better for my money since I assume spring break slots cost a lot more. And do you get a lot more donors during january than you do during spring break? I would really like to know what I should do.

I would if I could, but it's going to even be hard to hit january. Were updating the server a lot and it should be done in january even though our goal was december.

Don't rush it, but do everything you can to release before Christmas. You're going to miss a huge financial bubble which will definitely help carry you to Spring break (The next bubble).

If you really can't make the deadline, don't rush things at all. Go slow. Put loads of effort into the server and ensure everything is playable and bug-free before you release. This is important, I can tell you from experience. Spend time with your language files, make everything feel custom and look sexy.

After you release, do some subtle advertising to get the server started. Whatever you do, do not purchase or rent a slot. Youtubers and PMC bumping is the way to go for new servers. Don't blow all of your money immediately. As a new server, you should always try to have enough money to pay two months of server expenses. Hold whatever you make, and save up for Spring break. As others in this thread have said before me, Spring break is probably your next best option to the holiday season.

To start with, you shouldn't buy a slot. If LittleLizardGaming didn't work out for you, then that should automatically raise some red flags. You have problems retaining players. Before you do anything else, fix that.

The problem is that littlelizard's audience is full of 2 year olds.

Read some of the comments for yourself, also on his channel it says "kid-friendly", we should've been more careful in choosing a youtuber. We also had previously hired campingrusher and his video payed off.

I explored for a few more minutes and figured out what to do. For someone who has experience playing the game, it isn't hard to figure out what to do, however, minecraft was made for young children who are often clueless and need things to be very simple in order for them to enjoy it. Try revamping your server so that it has a tutorial, or the overall layout is much more simple.

I agree 100% with you, our current game is very confusing. The game is being revamped as said above. The spawn will be a lot cleaner, the game will be simplified quite a bit. The spells will be improved a lot, and it will be easy to understand. Were even getting graphics and the website redone. There will also be a tutorial book in your hotbar at spawn
