Right so, I have around £2.2k ($3289.15) to spend on a brand new gaming setup. With this I am getting:

  1. Laptop (has to be a laptop, not a PC)
  2. Headphones
  3. Mouse
  4. Mouse pad
  5. Computer sleeve
  6. Earphones
Now, I have come up with the following, but would need some advice if there are better things instead of the following:

LINK
Screen Size 14 inches
Max Screen Resolution 3200 x 1800 pixels
Processor 2.6 GHz Core i7-4720HQ
RAM 16 GB DDR3L SDRAM
Hard Drive 512 GB Flash memory solid state
Graphics Coprocessor NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M
Graphics Card Ram Size 3000 MB
Wireless Type 802.11 A/C
Number of USB 3.0 Ports 3

Other Technical Details
Brand Name Razer
Series Blade
Item model number RZ09-01301E22-R3U1
Operating System Windows 8.1
Item Weight 4.5 pounds
Item Dimensions L x W x H 13.60 x 0.70 x 9.30 inches
Processor Brand Intel
Processor Count 4
Computer Memory Type DDR3 SDRAM
Flash Memory Size 512.0
Batteries: 1 Lithium ion batteries required. (included)

Razer Adaro earphones

Razer Kraken headphones

Logitech G502 Mouse

Logitech G240 Mouse pad

Computer Sleeve

Total price (including tax/postage fee's): $3,201.50/£2140.68

I will be using the laptop both at school (for work + photoshop) and at home for gaming, as well as when I bring it with me on holidays etc. - that is why it needs to be a laptop, needs to be light, and needs to also be good at gaming - which I think all applies to the laptop I chose.

I wanted to get a custom one from pcspecialist.co.uk however they looked quite heavy if you wanted to get a good spec one.

If you could take a peek and comment what you think in the comment section that would be highly appreciated - I don't want to be wasting any money.

Except the operating system, that laptop looks quite OP.

What would you recommend?
That depends on things. If you absolutely need Photoshop, you could chuck OS X on it, especially because it's what you're used to. If you want something fully legal and an OS I have a grudge against, Windows 7 or 10, I guess. Do beware though. If you don't need Photoshop or things like that then I can recommend a few Linux distros but that doesn't sound right for you.

What about 8.1? What's wrong with windows 8 anyways, most apps are on there now right?

I don't know about 8.1 but I have had a horrible experience with Windows 8. It was terribly glitchy and some sort of stupid menu kept coming up whilst I was playing Minecraft. Since the laptop comes with Windows 8, if you tolerate it, keep it. It's also very intrusive - click here.

There is nothing wrong with Windows 8.1 at all. I would update to Windows 10 when its released but its not too bad now.

Windows 7 is one of the best Windows versions why do you have a grudge against it? Its my OS on all my machines and its fine.

What is the real difference between Photoshop on Windows and Mac anyway?

Windows 8 yeah it was aweful. But a lot of stuff got improved in 8.1.

Windows 10 looks promising though. No more metro screen :)[DOUBLEPOST=1428507028,1428505347][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ill be honest the laptop looks amazing on its own. What are the reviews like on it?

Im going out on a rough guess that your from the UK like me.
I saw this laptop which looks like it is more powerful but the resolution is only 1920x1080 (Not your borderline 4k one above)

Another issue is when your smashing out games and stressing the cpu/gpu the fans are quite loud.
