The current user using the username @\OP can never be tagged in a thread because Xenforo automatically changes @\OP to the owner of the thread's username. It's a Xenforo feature.

Lol no, its just a username.. but I guess you're doing it in spite from our past..

Also its not a xenforo feature itself, its an addon iirc

not really that worth it, Croc should be able to keep his name as you are able to just refer to the OP to the thread as just OP, without need of tagging them. if you really want to know the username of the OP of the thread you can just scroll up, you don’t actually lose your progress if you’re writing a response in the reply box[DOUBLEPOST=1564959761][/DOUBLEPOST]Charnary

The user named OP has been banned so I've gone ahead and adjusted his username to his ID now. If someone else takes the name OP in the future I'll end up changing it back due to the issue you've addressed.

The ability to tag OP to get the original poster of a thread is a custom addon we have by the way :)

I'll move this to the bug report archives, thank you.
