Out with the Animated Profile Pictures

Greetings.

I'm creating this thread in order to touch on something which has been bothering me and the majority of the MCM community for days now.

There have already been dozens of threads that mention this issue but they don't provide concrete evidence about why they're disruptive to the website experience.

A small batch of people are setting their profile pictures to extremely excessively animated and strobe-like gifs and it not only is terrible for eyesight but these profile pictures are also distracting and unprofessional. They completely ruin the professional and sleek vibe that MC-Market usually offers so elegantly. most of the time.

On a marketplace forum, I'd expect complete professionalism from the profiles of users.

Having every other profile picture be a rainbow strobe or random animation is completely ruining the experience for me as well as a large majority of the community and they really have to go.

Please rate this post as AGREE if you'd like to see gif profile pictures be removed.

Nothing. The image is already processed and on the server so that stays. Only new gifs can't be uploaded.

If you are talking about existing ones with that kind of effect, yeah shouldn't be allowed.
But since you can't put anymore onto your profile picture, this shouldn't be much of a problem.
