This is my first time actually building a proper PC I made this my budget is $500 games I plan to run is Minecraft, CS:GO, GarrysMod, Leauge of Legends and others. It wouldn't hurt if its over the budget just by a little.

If anyone has any suggestions please comment down below!

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

*sees AMD*

No, bad boy. No AMD. Get an i7-6700k or i7-4970k.

Do not get the Nvidia 960, get something a bit better like the 980.

It's my first time also on a budget of around 500-550

Troll post?

1. i7 for gaming?

2. AMD processors can handle his selected games fine. Despite their different architecture in terms of heat output and power draw.
Although I do admit that AMD has more weak cores. Luckily most of his games won't draw too many cores from a processor.

3. NVIDIA GTX 960/980 is definitely ''overkill'' for his budget.

4. None of his specifically mentioned games are GPU demanding.

and if he wants to play a different game?
The wonderful thing about PC gaming is how easily you can upgrade components. These are his currently listed games. If he wants to play anything else than he should do some research or ask this forum. But for now he's informed us of his games.
if your going for multi threaded applications or games go with the 4790k but with single thread go with the 6700k
Bit of a pain in his budget. Although I do agree.
