Seems nice, but what is a "small plugin" exactly?
Give me an idea and I'll tell you whether it qualifies.
A small plugin is pretty much anything that I can code within a few days.
Did you read the rest of it? $1-5, small plugins. Most people don't even know how to code. I do. I assume you do also. If you're not interested, then don't hang around and put down my thread.
The thing that worries me is that you might not know how to code that well, as most of the "bigger" smaller plugins are with the help of your devteam. I could make a chat filter in like 5 minutes lol. As a matter of fact, I can make a minigame in a day, so basing the term "small" off of what you can accomplish in a day is a pretty bad idea.
From my understanding, you seem to be a really new dev just trying to make a few bucks. I understand that, but don't lie to your customers saying you have two years of experience. I'm sure you just ask your dev team to make the plugins that people ask for. I don't want to be mean and I'm usually not the guy to assume things but you just don't seem to have enough experience with plugin development, which is why you only want to do small plugins (as big ones require more skill).
Look, at the end of the day, all of the best coders have been in your shoes at one point or another. Not all of them were offered help in learning, just as I wasn't. If you'd like, I can give you some tips and help you on projects you have difficulty working on free of charge. PM me and we can talk on skype eventually if you'd like.
I'm sure you do a good job on the small stuff but by the looks of it you need your team in order to do things that are just a tiny bit bigger even.
You are entirely wrong. I have worked with Java for over 2 years and the Bukkit API for that same amount of time. I am not lying at all when I say this. The only reason that I have the team (I could have done those on my own) is to help with time consumption since I have so many different things going on in my life. I am an avid golfer who plays in at least a tournament each week, I own a server, I maintain above a 4.0, I like to have some fun with Minecraft, I code for fun, and I code for customers. I have a pretty full plate, so I don't have time to work on the larger plugins that I have the potential to do.
Although, I would be willing to accept a few tips. As I can't get sit down and code much, my java gets rustier everyday, which is why I opened this plugin shop. Partly to practice, and partly to make a few bucks for my server. Thank you for offering help.
I understand you are selling smaller plugins but have you coded anything bigger? Or anything to show experience and knowledge of the Bukkit API? I might have a smaller project for you just as I don't have the time myself to do it. But I want to know that you actually know how to code and know what you are doing as these plugins are very basic. (Not trying to put down, just trying to better understand what you have to offer)
I have, but sadly they're all deleted. They were on my old computer and I just coded some larger minigame-type stuff for fun. Sorry for not being able to show any real proof, you'll just have to trust me on this one. Please feel free to contact me with that smaller project if you'd like.
