Prebuilt or Custom Desktops?

I'm looking in to buying myself a new desktop one day around Christmastime and was just wondering if it is better to buy a pre-built desktop or have one custom built. Looking to spend about the £500-600 range if possible. I'm a student studying Games Design, and I'm aware some engines are more demanding than others. So, all around what would be my best course of action?

Oops, must've missed that. Yeah, that's great. Not looking for anything too powerful at all, I use my laptop for a lot of minor college game development but struggle to play more demanding games.

Likely go for a custom one.

Get a i5 Processor.
GTX 960 (cheapest probs , get more GBs)
8GBM RAM.
Good motherboard.
SSD (500GB-1TB)

This is my current setup, and it can run any game at 60FPS, and it even stream big graphics using games like Fortnite using CPU power.
