Private "Shoutbox" Improvements to PMs.

I think having a shoutbox kind of PM would be better than the regular "email" style messages.
The current PM's don't auto update, and are slow in my opinion.
I haven't been in a group conversation yet, but I'm sure a shoutbox style conversation will be better to use as it will auto-update with newer messages.
Maybe there could be a way to make the PMs Shoutbox or Email style so you can have some choice in how you want the messages to go.

Anyone have ideas about this? I just thought about this and wrote something about it

+1. I would love to have a live chat/shoutbox PM system instead of PMs that take "years" to load since you need to wait for the cooldown.

I would love this idea to be added, because it just seems more professional. But then - How would auto-responders come to play?
Would this be a donor-only perk? Would the creator of the conversation be able to make it SB or normal?

There could be a combo of both the PM and Shoutbox then it will auto reply using the PM part.

Whispers kinda take over the idea you're talking about. It just doesn't keep history. So ask for a feature to keep history of whispers to users instead?

I think whispers are really annoying in the shoutbox, and whispers can't happen in a group conversations.
So my idea would be better in group conversations and maybe between two members.

Yes pretty much, like the shoutbox, new messages come up instantly, and you can scroll up through old messages.

A few weeks back we added in an addon that was exactly this, automatically refreshing the MCM private messages. The problem with it was that there was a 'Change View' button which changed the look of it back to the current style and it wasn't saved in your cookies, so every time you reloaded the PM it returned to the new look. We may try to get that fixed.
