Set in a world that has been ravaged by war, players choose between two opposing factions, which engage in an ongoing, open world PVP experience.
Players will progress by levelling up, where they can choose their own set of skills to become the warrior they want to be. There is also custom gear of varying rarity for those who want the upper-hand on the battlefield.
The world of Elysea is very well detailed. Scattered across the world, players will find many various PVE encounters, such as quests and mobs, where players can have fun and develop their character without the heavy focus on PVP.

The background of the server is that for the first time in the game world’s history, an army of shadowy beings of death itself have declared an unrelenting war of mankind, causing widespread destruction. The factions of the world, who until then had lived in relative peace, have turned hostile and will stop at nothing to ensure their people’s safety.
Even the citizens of the capital cities live in fear of the night falling. For them, the city walls, no matter how big, don’t provide them with any hope. However, as the heroes of this story soon discover, hope cannot be measured as simply as the height of a wall or the length of a sword. Hope, in its truest form, can be found as little beacons of light in a world people think have gone dark.

The Factions
The Vanguard
The Vanguard is a powerful faction consisting of three large sectors, formed majorly out of trained, war-hardened humans, recruited and hammered into stone-cold intellectuals, warriors, and spies by persistent training and conditioning. The faction was originally formed by a man known as Klexius Saladin, a warrior-turned-leader who strived to command an invincible force, for mainly righteous and justified intent.
The Vanguard was created for two overarching reasons -- to protect those who deserved protection, and to conquer those who were intent on destruction. Every soldier in the Vanguard was trained to fight with valiance, camaraderie, and utmost respect towards morality and courage. The members of the faction would train daily, provided with each skill needed to come together and fight in the Lumos War -- the great, bloody battle between the Vanguard and the Exile -- in tandem with each others’ abilities.
The Exile
The Exile is a faction focused on what might be called the ‘bad side’ of the spectrum. The faction consists of a number of humans - embedding an evil, hateful darkness in their hearts to guide their intentions to destruction instead of justice. Only those wishing for corrupt power are truly able to enter this faction, and any who enter never leave.
The Exile faction was founded by Eczan Sertu. Eczan was said to have once been a powerful, yet gentle man; his heart was once filled with light and goodness. However, no good thing could last, he was guided into the darkness causing his heart to grow a deep-rooted anger towards the world and its deception. He was overcome, powerful in physicality and vulnerable in spirit with his pain. A force latched onto him, an ancient darkness that noticed his terrible plight and wanted to take advantage of him, use him for its own wishes and greed. Eczan became a danger to the world, transformed into a powerful man beyond mortal power, and with both his original mortal power and new-found power, he secluded himself onto one side of Langard and prepared a fortress, a base, to collect an army.
