So, recently I have been giving people positive reputation for being my customers.

Things like, would deal with again, user is fast at responding, clear in instructions, etc.
Pretty much what I'm saying is you need proof of someone behaving/just doing their job.

I understand you need proof if you're giving negative reputation as it can affect their reputation as a whole, and themselves and what they do on MCM.
But you shouldn't need to add proof of them being good.

It's like saying to your child you need proof of them behaving. Sounds dumb to me.
Agree, or disagree?

Should needing proof for good reputation be a NEED or a WANT?

Great suggestion for re-introducing reputation farmers, especially reputation farmers who make out their feedback to be worth so much more than it actually is, because if this suggestion were to be implemented, they wouldn’t need to show evidence for a single claim they’re making. Even better, because it’s positive, nobody will ever report it, so they’ll just build up endlessly.
If the goal was to fill the reputation system with unfiltered worthless garbage, and be even more useless and unreliable, then this would be a good idea.

I understand how little anyone wants to go through more than five seconds of work in order to do something good for somebody else, but the solution is to make providing evidence easier, not to remove the requirement.
I suggested the idea of allowing the submission of image links to be automatically converted into attachments, in order to achieve this.

I reckon the proof of reputation needs to be enforced way more, because most people just put random pictures as proof for their rep
Lmao that's what I normally do.
As said, I state stuff like "Good person, would deal with again, fast, went first, cut clean deal, trusted" etc
Then load in a random photo. Another problem is what I do is making minecraft skins, and 99% of the time the user wants their skin they paid for, to be uploaded privately to them only. There is namemc which no one can get by and people will always be able to look you up and download your skin, but I can't help that and make sure the buyer knows of such.

Otherwise, even if watermarked, people will and can download the file (meant as proof) and can take hard earned work in the manner of seconds.

I think overall there should be something maybe done with ranks more. Like let ravage person do 1 rep a day. And have ranks do 2-3 a day. Or make a leveling system where you can't rep for the first 3 months (this is a thing already) following 2 rep a month for next level, level after that would be 4 a month, all the way until you get to 3 a day as max, Unless you're a high rank.
This will. 1. Give more reasons to buy ranks. 2. Give more reasons who comment, make threads, be active. 3. Also at the same time stop people from doing reputation farms.

Also, seems to me that sooner or later, (weeks, months, years later) people will try to scam if they see someone who doesn't speak English so well, or have some sort of advantage over the other user (ImPrank scamming Massi as example) as Massi's first language isn't English and Prank could have thought of a plan to make it work in his favor. Now, I'm not saying this for sure, but based on speaking to Massi myself, and reading the case. Seems like that good be possible.

Not hard to just add a screenshot of them being a sensible, decent customer.

I usually just show part of the conversation where they confirm that they're received whatever's being exchanged, and that's usually enough.

The system you suggested would probably be too confusing and it'd require some custom development so I highly doubt they'd do it.

Making it so someone who has to upload a pic for a rep doesn't fix rep farming as 99% of the time people who deal normally upload random pics, And even rep farmers usually do $1 - $5 deals for rep in masses

If a negative reputation can damage the user, a positive reputation may lead them to exit scamming in the future. Too risky to be implemented

I’m already not a fan of the reputation system and I really don’t think making it easier to farm is the best route to take. If people are actually what they are made out to be in a positive reputation then it shouldn’t be very difficult to simply upload some sort of proof.

it's confusing as to what you're supposed to actually use as 'proof' of transaction - some people i've dealt with would rather their pp emails/names were not on public display.

maybe it'd also be worth making the proof attachments only visible to staff and/or allowing mcm pms to be linked as proof.

but then people couldn't report rep for invalid proof, which would slow down reputation removals considerably :/

People can mark/blur out sensitive/personal information.
Showing a screenshot of confirmation that the other person received what they should have received is acceptable evidence.
I'm to lazy to do that. So I try to provide screenshots in the rep BUT staff don't like those either half the time SO from now on i'll just have to use the skin download as proof.

I'm sorry but I'm not putting a part of the conversation I had with my customer nor a screen of my terminal as proof as all of that is purely confidential and of the private domain, at some point, you have to accept that not everything can be proven. I'm not even sure the paypal transaction screens I take are even allowed at this point since they just contain the name and amount. Out of about my last 50 customers, I've barely gained +2 positive reputation, because people either can't figure out what to write or what to put as evidence of me delivering the work because, once again, my conversations including highly sensitive information that no one would rather putting on a marketplace forum, they don't even know if it's worth doing so since no one knows if it'll even stay! That is outright repelling!

At the end of the conversation ask them if everything is all good, and then take a screenshot of their reply and use it as proof, it's not hard

As others have said, it is important that we have the exact same requirements for negative feedback as we have for positive feedback, as they both are equally important in assessing the reputability of a user.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
