Anyone know much about Adelphi, Hofstra, and/or St Josephs colleges? If so, please PM me, thanks. I want to know which one would be the best to go for for majoring in Computer Science. I mainly want to major in Software Engineering, but Hofstra seems to be the one with the most courses in Computer Science and having the most majors in forms of it. I haven't gotten accepted to Hofstra yet (haven't heard back yet), so I'd like to know what my options were if I had to choose between Adelphi and/or St Josephs or which would be the best if I did get accepted to Hofstra. Thanks so much.

As always, Badger :)

What area are you looking for?

I've heard lots of great things about Montana Tech, as well as Michigan University.

I mean my parents want to stay close states, those are very far and it's quite late to apply I believe anyhow.

I want to major in Software Engineering though.

If you want to go all hardcore tech and get your major(s) and minor(s) as a technology based degree, and are looking for something not so pricey, you should look into ITT Tech, I know, the commercials and stuff are terrible, but it's really misjudged, and cheap, so you can live in a higher end apartment/house.

How long are you looking to go to college for? And what type of degree do you want? Associates, Bachelors, etc?

I mean I could care less for how long I go (4 years would be nice). I want to major in Software Engineer (Bachelors) if possible. If I had to (lets say I didn't get accepted to Hofstra), I'd want to go to St Joseph's for a semester, then transfer and finish up at Hofstra... I'm not sure if that's possible though?

It probably is possible, as long as the credits are worth the same. You should try and contact Hofstra and see if you can, most larger colleges, you can.

Will definitely do so if I'm not accepted there! Thanks for the advice!

Out of the three options, Hofstra.

Cool, lmao :p However I'm not 100% sure I got accepted to Hofstra, so if I don't I want to know what to choose, St Joseph's or Adelphi. Both have basically around 70% female too :p Hofstra has 50$ basically male and female. Doesn't matter to me though lol. I want to go to the school with best computer program(s). Hofstra seems to be best choice, but I have not heard back if I have been accepted or not and I may not, never know.

If all you want is a good computer science program, you should look at some other colleges.

We've hit the applying deadline though? Are neither of them good though?

I'm from New York and would not consider any of them as "computer science" schools. At least they offer computer science degrees, that's a start.
Depending on distance, money, and intelligence, there's plenty of other better options if you're looking for computer science (or computer engineering).
