Rechoose winner if the winner is banned.

The person posted the winner on the thread and said that Earl as won it, however, Earl is banned and not able to do it.

Earl was last seen in Feb 2019 and the giveaway was made on Sunday.
Which meant Earl never joined the giveaway.

So the result itself is false and misleading.
This should be worked around.


Stuff the OP might do for this.
1) The user did it on purpose.
2) The user kept on generating until it showed that particular number. (on the thread the 3rd post is also by a disabled member)

good run used to be named "earl." but has since disabled because he chargebacked Robben $175 on the MC account "Nobel" (after it was locked) and refuses to give back Robben his money or fight the scam report.

I thought only users that replied to the thread could join, Earl doesn't have replies on it and yeah the dates don't match. So... it was a set up giveaway I assume?

I also saw that but it is misleading because you can't go and bypass that disabled user.

This is not the case with a banned user however, I don't appreciate disabled accounts can't be bypassed.

Or Alistair just happened to choose them, as there was a 20% chance of doing so. Legitimately any giveaway can be "rigged", no matter how many people join, because inspect element exists. A better way of handling things would be to force the "Enter Giveaway" button on all giveaways, so that the choosing is fully random, only publicly entered users can win, and disabled/banned users are excluded.

The only way to fix this is by making the people confirm themselves that they're received the product, before the thread even closes and when the winner is announced.

If someone runs a giveaway and decides on a winner that clearly didn't receive the product, our moderators will look into it if it is reported. We warn users for misusing the giveaways system to try to cheat/abuse it, and recently our man Geek has been going through that section to moderate it a bit more which is much appreciated.
