When looking through applications, we aim to accept members that would contribute time, connections, and resources (in hopes of members collaborating with each other on projects). Based on your application, mentioning ownership of a successful startup with high revenue, we assumed that you wouldn't contribute a lot of time in our community. The applicants accepted into BC who have outside focuses (not related to Minecraft) were mostly accepted due to their pre-existing connections with the members, so we assumed that the community would be useful for them.Just wanna throw my 2 cents in here..
I was denied - they said because "Due to lack of MC-Market reputation and lack of Minecraft related experience, we believe that this community would not share the same interests and vision as your current projects."
I explained that I did was not currently working on an MC related project, but had significant experience with MC related projects - including running a server network circa 2012-2016, moderating on MCF, being a bukkit/spigot developer, being one of the first 1000 members of Spigot. I also explained that, while I did not have any current MC related projects, I have an ownership interest in a hosting company and MSP, as well as a new venture that aims to solve chargebacks.
I thought I had a lot to share - but guess not..
That's a pretty stupid comment nglDear MCM "Freelancers",
If you aren't in MinecraftBC then you aren't deserving of all the fake titles posted around MCM; "Professional", "Corporate level".
From, someone in MinecraftBC.
Well if you think it’s stupid it’s because you’re not in the community and you’re probably using those terms to describe yourself. Quite frankly, the amount of 16 year olds in MCM that haven’t even made $100 let alone $10,000 like some of us in MCBC don’t deserve to have those self defined titles...”pretty stupid ngl”That's a pretty stupid comment ngl
Wow, you're part of the Minecraft Business Group! Do you understand people can be "professional" or "corporate level" without being in a Discord server. There are a lot of talented individuals on platforms like these, and although it's not most there are some. But, at the end of the day, it is MCMarket and Minecraft is a game made for children to enjoy. Not everything in this world has to be looked at and done solely for money. It's just quite the silly comment that you posted and I thought I'd let you know.Well if you think it’s stupid it’s because you’re not in the community and you’re probably using those terms to describe yourself. Oh man, I guess I'm not a professional who's been freelancing for nearly 7 years now. I'm 19 and I've made more than the $10,000 point you made. (Keep in mind 10k/yr also is not even close to professional levels of income, but I digress) I have absolutely no interest in joining this community at this time however due to you making it seem like some members act like it's an entitled community.Well if you think it’s stupid it’s because you’re not in the community and you’re probably using those terms to describe yourself.
