Steam Login Support

Several sites have this and I love it. For example, LTT.

You can link your Steam to your account and login with that, which gives you SteamGuard protection, IP tracking, etc.

I know it can't be hard to do, Chris's site CSForums has it.

Anyways, opinions?

This takes one addon to implement indeed.

The main reason why I don't want this implemented is security. If someone unwanted gains access to your steam account, your MCM account will be affected too. We had twitter support and this was removed for the same reason.

Let's also not mention it bypasses 2FA.

I don't mean to be rude, but in no way is adding Steam login support a security risk. Steam's authentication, SteamGuard, IP Tracking, etc are much more advanced and better suited than anything MC-M offers.

I don't see your point. (By the way, Minecraft IS sold on Steam )


This is about secure logins, I trust a multi-billion dollar company with my info more than I trust MC-M. They also offer IP Tracking and SteamGuard, etc.

Regardless if we implemented it, you would still have an MCM username and password. Therefore, implementing this will do nothing to improve the security of your account, if that is what the purpose of this is.

Never worry about it, and use Steam. It's really not that hard and as Ajdin pointed out extremely easy to implement.

May I point out this is a Minecraft Marketplace forum? Steam doesn't really fit that.

The majority of us don't actually play minecraft, only buy and sell to make a profit.
Most of us play cs.

I will work on implementing Google Authentication tonight.

It's much more secure than steam and more people use it.
It adds another form of 2FA.
