Thinking of starting a forum

Nope. Not releasing my idea. And two, it won't compete with mc marketplace ideas as it has little to do with it. Actually it can only help users of these forums gain reputation.

So I just want to ask, would you users be willing to use discourse (free forum software which in my opinion is hella sexy) or are you really set to using xenforo (costly to me)?

If you have any other suggestions, not myBB or vanilla I'm open to hear them.

XenForo is the best in my opinion, if you like I can help you I'm pretty good.

I don't need help getting it up as I feel I can do that myself, what I'm concerned about is costs.

Don't listen to these kiddies, there is no reason that you should have to use the hella expensive and cliche Xenforo forum software. Discourse and Nodebb both look like great alternatives and they are faster, more dynamic as well due to being written in Node.js

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind though I do agree with some users who find discourse to be "too clean" in that its very linear.
