High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

This is actually not a bad idea. It could prevent necroposting.

I will look into this.

I think it helps staff to so they can focus on other things than closing old Threads And warn for necropost

lol, so make "Archive" sections for every section? Unfortunately, I don't see the point.

I don't think 'necroposting' is bad either, unless it's a spam post in which case... it's a spam post (against the rules?). Necroposting is simply continuing a long lasting topic, in my book.

BTW, you really amuse me with your replies.

You're wrong, it can lock Threads And/or move it PER forum.

This idea is good.. but a few days? Why not just a week, or a month preferably if the user who created the thread was on a vacation and couldn't be on his computer those times, but anywho, great idea
You can set the time

I know... I was just saying why would it want to close a thread automatically in around 3-4 days when someone might be in a trip or somewhat and will return in a week
Oh Okay :)

There's also different types of threads i.e service threads, someone may want to take a break and come back, and then can't bump their post because it's locked, then it's a pain in the ass to contact the admins to get it unlocked.
You can set this per forum. Like all services Locked in 1-2 months.

I think you're actually misunderstanding your own suggestion.

You want to archive posts? Two ways to do that.
  1. Create an "Archive" for every forum. e.g. Builds Archive, General Discussion Archive etc. and move to there
  2. Create one Archive forum and move threads to it with a prefix
You're suggesting moving threads with archives. They are the two possible ways to do that. If you're suggesting neither, then you're extremely confused.

Additionally, this is pretty stupid. Archiving threads? lol. Didn't realise this was a database of MC marketplace history or an archive like http://archive.org

An interesting idea. Perhaps not the addon we'd use, but an interesting idea. At the same, I also feel this is the sort of thing we have Moderators for.

My last reply made it look like I agree witj everything inside the thread.

I'll reword myself: Personally I'd only see this useful in the accounts section or other marketplace where people have old threads which get bumped by people not checking the date. I think a more suitable time for the lock to happen is +1 month. A thread removal/archive shouldn't happen.
