A lot of people (including me) are/were a little bit confused when deciding on what their first gaming keyboard should be, so if you are someone who doesn't know what keyboard to get, this is the thread that you always needed, if you would like to skip to No. 1 scroll down to the bottom of the thread and you should see it in bold writing and an overview of the keyboards specs etc. etc.
3. CMStorm Quickfire tK
I haven't used this keyboard personally nor have I ever seen one, but this has a lot of really good reviews. This keyboard is overall really good for LAN events or even smaller desks as it is slightly smaller than most average mechanical gaming keyboards. This keyboard has a large variety of different Cherry MX switches and LED lighting effects, but the only thing that disappointed me about this keyboard is the fact that there is a removable cable which again, could be good for LAN events but for the average home-PC gamer, it's not exactly ideal.
2. Razer Blackwidow Chroma
This is one of my all-time favorite gaming keyboards, it's really good for any type of game, whether it be CS:GO, Minecraft or even a FPS! This keyboard only comes with 1 option for the Cherry MX switches which I feel is a little bit disappointing for such a large company that produces high quality keyboards, though if you do want different Cherry MX switches you could simply purchase the Razer Blackwidow Stealth which uses Razers very own custom Cherry MX Orange switches, I've used the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014 for about 2 years now and it never really appealed to me and the sound was really irritating, overall it's a good keyboard but one of the REALLY annoying parts is the fact that if you have even a tiny smear of grease on your hand, it will come off on the plastic surrounding the keyboard.
1. Corsair STRAFE RGB
I've only used this keyboard for a day now, and it is already my new favorite keyboard. This comes with a lot of different Cherry MX switches and Corsair tend to lie about which one's you are getting, so make sure you now how the return/replace policy works on Amazon (if that is where you are purchasing it). As of 25/03/2016(EU) or 03/25/2016(US) it is not available in Europe with Cherry MX Blue's, but only in the American store, so you may have to wait a while to get this keyboard. The keyboard sounds awesome but my favorite part about this is the lighting profiles, if you head on over to Corsairs RGBShare forums you will be able to find out about millions of different lighting profiles for your keyboard, for example I currently use 'Underwater' which is a mainly blue scheme, but when you type on a key there is a white ripple flowing around the key, along with a series of flickers for an after-shock effect. The keyboard is ultimately amazing and comes with another set of keycaps for MMO/FPS gaming in case you don't like the ones that are already fitted, the only downside to this keyboard is the spacebar which tends to stick down when pressed, helping it stay silent and making the activation of the button easier, but it really irritates you sometimes, I also love the retractable wrist-rest which is amazing as it is textured like the spacebar itself. The keyboard is a little bit pricey though, but it is well worth it.
