So I heard trump got impeached.

Most people think this means he getting removed from office

guess what guys, that’s not at all what it means

impeachment is a federal trial against a government official who has been accused of a federal crime

Now whoever thinks he’s going to get removed from office you’re an idiot

Why?

because after getting impeached by the house ( which btw is majority democrat, which is why he got impeached by them ) he then has to get impeached by the senate which is majority republican. The senate needs a 50% vote to impeach him, which isn’t going to happen because 15 republican senators isn’t going to kick trump out of office.

btw guys your tax payer money is getting wasted on impeachment processes

if trump gets impeached Pence is taking his place you idiots who has similar ideals as trump so y’all going to have to impeach him too and then waste more tax money which could be spent towards schools, infrastructure, etc

now some idiots might be like “ well idc about politics idiot “ well that’s what British young voters said before brexit happened

so suck my balls

Yep, it's not going anywhere in the senate - if it goes to the senate. Pelosi has already indicated she might not send the articles over, so while it's probable he won't be removed, he won't be acquitted either.

The court of public opinion also holds huge weight here. Impeachment will be all over the news and it's certain to sway independents and less informed voters - you might even see Republicans looking for a better alternative.

To all those rightfully worried about the process being a waste of resources, I'd recommend looking at Steny Hoyer's speech today. Dems voted not to proceed with impeachment 3 separate times, one as recently as July. It wasn't something they wanted to do but the circumstances necessitated it.
