I have seen recently an influx of relatively new members gaining lots of reputation due to repetitive and easy sales/tasks, this makes it look like the user is reputable and that you can trust them. However, that is not necessarily the case. I don't see reputation as a number, but rather trust, what sort of deals the user has done and how and where they're invested in the community.

My proposal is the introduction of a 'trusted' role, these roles will be applied to members of the community who've been voted in.

The reason: These are the first people to look for when you want a middleman, or comfortable going first with. They're kind, friendly and know the market well for different products.

The look:

I actually spent time in inspect element trying to redo all of this, thanks to utaninja for the profile.

This is a long shot, but I would love to know what you guys think of this, and possibly who you think this role should be applied to.

This has been suggested before under many different names and it has always been denied. Why? Because what happens when a trusted member scams out? How does that make Mc-Market look when they label someone as trustworthy and they abuse that trust?

They can implement this actually i see nothing wrong on this, they can easily implement some sort of verification thing like to Submit an ID or only people mick knows to get a trusted role.
Nobody is going to submit their ID to an online forum, and Mick going around giving only the people he knows the trusted rank would amount to nothing because it’s not like he personally knows a lot of people on Mc-Market.

The moment a well known user decides to exit scam they’ll use this tag to trick so many newer members who can’t speak up for themselves.

I appreciate the sentiment, but understand the logistics will be extremely hard to implement to a satisfactory level. Rep is extremely inflated and honestly worth very little. People have above 100 rep from the easiest things which barely resemble a deal, and I think it's going to get to the point where rep levels get so high the distinguishment from 100 and 400 rep means nothing.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother trying to change it - it's not going to. Good luck however, it's a noble idea.

Been suggested a bunch in the past, but it's never possible for MCM to ensure that a user is truly trusted. Users need to be cautious in every deal they do, that's the best way to reduce scamming.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
