What unique ways are there to advertise Minecraft servers?

Example: Buying domains similar to big servers and hope for typos. Shift Hosting is renting this service out.

You do not have to bought the service before (I have not bought Shift Hosting's service). I'm just curious what people have found or thought of whether a good or bad idea.
