Hiya,

I would like to see a feature that you could do something like
Insert > Webpage
Then it pops up with something like
"Insert URL of the webpage you would like to embed"


And then it would embed the site in the thread
(similar to <iframe>

Could cause a lot of security issues, would take quite a bit of develpment

I was thinking the same thing, it would take a while and a lot of patching but I'm sure it would be possible

Personally, I've suggested things like bbcode tables in the past, and suggestions like that have been denied.

It's simply not worth it. If you're going to do formatting, you might as well do it made for MCMarket. There're very few disadvantages to things like text-based thread designs, image-based thread designs or a combination thereof.

Not to mention, that would cause serious security issues. The <iframe> HTML tag, which is essentially what you're describing, has an attribute called 'sandbox': https://www.w3schools.com/Tags/att_iframe_sandbox.asp. However, I would not put it past developers to think that this attribute will protect malicious websites from executing scripts through a vulnerability because of this implementation.

You can implement your own sandboxing feature (or MCM in this case), but again, it's not worth it. Stick to current features, there's nothing wrong with them

I don't see the benefit of adding this. If you'd like to link someone to a different site use a URL like every other forum does. The amount of security issues this would add is ridiculous.
