I would rather not talk about my Republican point of views and ramble on about how much of a bullshit president he is.

It is hard to do a bad job as a president, and Obama is no exception. The U.S. is not a dictatorship, so it is not fair to judge all actions of America in the last x number of years simply because of a president. Yes, they are obviously important, but there is a reason there are multiple branches of government, and lots of people within in each branch; to make sure there is a balance of power. I think we should look more closely at the actions of say our bicameral legislature or the supreme court, as often times I find they make iffy decisions (In my opinion) and yet we only question the president. Is that really fair? Anyone, that is just my opinion.

I can agree with what you're trying to state but the president has to pass whatever the different branches are trying to-do. That's why he gets the blame.
He can Veto a bill that Congress attempts to pass, but his Veto only goes so far, if Congress wants something in, and the President doesn't, they CAN override his power, they just need a large majority.

This is what ensures that we DON'T have a Dictator, because if the President starts making crazy rules and bills, Congress will overrule him.

I personally think Congress is the issue, filled with politicians with ancient mine sets and the ability to pull the people in one way or another in both major political groups.

Wikipedia -
  1. In the former, the president retains the power to veto such a decision; however, the Congress may override a veto with a two-thirds majority to end an executive order.

Could you expect the president to pass legislature that goes against his and his party's values? No.

His job is to do his best to do what he said he was going to do when he was being elected. This isn't an easy task based on how the government is setup. There's a reason why Washington said to ensure that political parties don't get in the way of governing.

The republican majority congress ensures that the President will have a hard time getting anything on the democratic agenda done. The only things he can do are put out executive orders. Many of these orders, such as the immigration one recently, are very great things and allows him to halfheartedly do what he's set out to do.

If the president won't pass bills that he doesn't believe in (as they come from a republican congress), he doesn't get anything done on the democratic agenda. This makes him be disliked by democrats. Since bills with republican values aren't being passed, once again, he gets hate from the republicans.

The issue is the way government is setup and not a president. There are way to many things that are made to improve democracy but in reality infringe upon it. Examples are filibustering and gerrymandering within the house.

It's not about who we elect, it's about how these people are able to fulfill the needs of those who elected them. With a government that is divided in an attempt to provide democracy, we further injure ourselves from bettering the country.

The only thing that needs to change is the way government is structured.

He has been bad way more than good, in my opinion. The media is liberalized for the most part, and if you disagree you are a fool. Therefore, good is overplayed and bad is downplayed. But, political debates always end bad on forums so I'd rather not debate or argue with someone on this topic.

I think this is the most intelligent thread on MC-Market, you guys are pretty political.
I think it died since people realized it would not be a good idea. Do not know if you were being sarcastic or not, but I will assume you are being sarcastic.

Not at all, some of the replies up there are pretty good lol.

I like him, I'm British but from his interviews - he seems like a chill guy.
