What drawing pad should I get?

I'm getting a drawing pad for my recent birthday, could I please get some recommendations for a good one? I have a mac so it needs to be capable of connecting to a mac. I'd rather not get a cheap one (although I'm a beginner), as I think that that's just a waste of my money. But then again, I don't want it to be too expensive.

I recommend getting one with a screen on it though (tablet) because I found I was unco-ordinated when writing.

The ones that I found with screens were £1000+. I'm looking for around £400 with a screen, or around £300- with ought.

Just as an FYI, wacom tablets do occasionally have some driver issues with windows computers, I would do a quick google search if your specs and see if there are any known issues before buying. The bamboo tablet is a cheaper, more practical drawing tablet or a beginner.

I got a Wacom Intous as my first tablet, and I found that it is a great tablet for drawing advanced graphics (things you need tilt, pressure, etc)

I have a cintiq from Wacom, those are the ones with the screens) and I find that for photo touch up, restoration, and video editing, it is great, wouldn't recommend it for everyday drawing though. (Unless you have way to much money)

Writing this on a tablet with the worst autocorrect, so not sure if thins are actually written correctly.

EDIT: friend says get an Intous Pro.
