So my server has been working hard getting ready for the 1.9 reset and it has come to a bit of a stand still. I just got s request for temporary resignation from one of my staff members who has "personal problems" he needs to take care of and can't work on the server in the meantime. So that means we are down to 3 staff members and myself... We started with 7, one moved and he has not been active scenes, one went to college, and yet another I haven't even seen on the server in weeks. So I posted on PMC and we got about 4 people apply but none of them have returned my emails or PMs. Now we are down to the building part, I don't really have the budget to spend 5$ per mine on 30 mines, I don't have $150 on hand. Even worse when 1.9 does come out who is going to be mods and other day to day positions. Really right now I am looking for builders, if you have any ideas on how to recruit them, let me know.

What do you use then to communicate with your staff team?
Ok my bad, what I meant is that I don't have a working head set. Mine broke and I am waiting to buy a good one on black friday sales. We have a skype group for staff to just drop messages and stuff, if that's what you are asking.

Choose players who play on the server almost everyday and depending on how much you trust them, have donated. Donaters are most likely not to do anything bad since they already helped support the server by donating. Also hand picking staff is a great way to hire since you choose from the players on your server. While hiring staff from mc market can lead you to more professional staff, they tend to be more inactive. I wish you the best of luck finding the right staff! Feel free to PM if you have any questions! :)

This was my policy for staff on my server.

First off, I strongly recommend only hiring people who are people already active on your server - I do not believe in finding new people and hiring them - as the people already on the server are usually up for it, and have existing knowledge on the server.

I made sure the people I hired never mentioned nor asked about being staff - the best staff are the modest people who appreciate being staff, but do not ask for it. The people who do not ask are the people who are not on the server to gain power and authority.

I never had to pay my staff, as people just wanted to be staff, as it was a "privilege". Find the most active players on your server(s), and if you think they example traits of responsibility, maturity and respect, then you can offer them a spot - always pick someone who is is mostly liked by the community.

For builders -- I was lucky enough to know a fantastic builder, who just wanted a place to build and display his builds. Good luck finding free builders on MCM, as this is a place based on profit - look on other minecraft forums that do not have to do with money (such as PlanetMinecraft) - it is amazing how many people are willing to build for free if they can just build for your server (just look in the right places)

I hope these tips help ^-^
