We have a strict zero tolerance policy on overselling and take great pride in the fact that we don't oversell.
I'm personally not a fan of web hosting because I like to have full control over the actual server rather than relying on a control panel like cpanel. For a VPS, I'd recommend RamNode. They treat us very well, no complaints over the past year I've been using them.
I know, I just wanted to reassure OP that we don't oversell.
Are you just going to need to host a few websites? If so really any web host will do fine, you don't need a VPS, plus you'll get to use cPanel with a regular web host which costs $15/m by itself for a VPS license. StableHost is a good web hosting provider, I've used them in the past.
Naw just one. If I need more in the future I will switch. Also is host gator bad? I get my first month free there.
Well they are not good by any means, but they aren't bad. Typically if you get hosting for free or for a penny it's not going to be great. But yeah, it'll be fine for a small-medium site.
