I personally use Windows 10. I like it's multiple desktop feature and it's theme. But if you are concerned about it's privacy issues or it's bad support of graphics cards, then definitely get windows 7. I used windows 7 for years and never had any complaints. Ubuntu is also an amazing operating system, but it has pretty bad software support (Not a lot of stuff it ported to linux), and windows-app emulation can be edgy and will butcher game framerates.

Chrome OS is great for gaming! You can play almost very game on the chrome app store!!
