There is 1.8 anviling takes less levels than in 1.7 and if you're running a 1.7 jar 1.8 players run into the "anvil bug" where it ghost steals their levels showing them the wrong amount of levels needed and not combing the items -

I need something that gives 1.8 clients 1.7 enchants. Hiding the possible outcome of the enchant in the enchantment table as well as fixing the anvil so that its all 1.7 I run a 1.8 jar with an old protocol support allowing 1.7 clients to join. If you know how to fix this issue please let me... -
