GUI Sections1. Today's Server Bulletin
The masthead of the Gazette. Displays server version, real-world date and time, realm name and current season — giving every session a grounded, immersive opening.
2. Richest Citizen
Pulls the #1 baltop entry via EssentialsX placeholders and displays their formatted balance alongside the viewing player's own account balance. Requires Vault + EssentialsX.
3. Top Fighter
Combat statistics panel showing player kills, mob kills, total deaths and a K/D ratio display for the viewing player. Powered by the Statistic PAPI expansion.
4. Explorer of the Day
Tracks distances walked and swum alongside total playtime, perfect for survival and RPG servers that want to celebrate the journey, not just the destination.
5. Server Health Report
Live server vitals panel: TPS, online player count, player ping, current world time, and RAM usage. A clean at-a-glance diagnostic wrapped in an immersive frame.
6. Daily Rumors & Whispers
Fully static immersive flavor section. Edit the lore lines freely to set the narrative mood of your server.
7. Your Daily Fortune
A small immersive fun section addressed directly to the player by name. Fortune text, auspicious direction and favored material, fully editable static lore.
8. Community Spotlight
Highlights the player's LuckPerms group hierarchy, rank prefix, and unique server login count. Rounded out with a "most active today" acknowledgement addressed personally to the viewer.
9. Your Profile Card
A live player head snapshot card showing username, rank group, balance, health, food level, XP level and current world. Useful, personal and always up to date.
Installation Instructions[OL]
[*]Download the configuration zip.
[*]Place newspaper.yml into your plugins/DeluxeMenus/menus/ directory.
[*]Install the required PAPI expansions by running the following in console or in-game: /papi ecloud download Statistic → combat & exploration stats, /papi ecloud download Vault → economy balance display, /papi ecloud download Essentials → baltop rankings. Then run /papi reload to activate them.

[*]Grant the permission node newspaper.read to the desired player groups via your permission manager. Remove the open_requirement block entirely to allow all players without a permission check.

Compatibility Notes- Placeholder display issues: If any section shows raw placeholder text (e.g. %essentials_baltop_player_1%), the required PAPI expansion is not installed or loaded. Run /papi list to verify active expansions.
- Missing plugins: Sections that rely on Vault, EssentialsX or LuckPerms will show raw placeholder strings if those plugins are absent. Simply replace the placeholder with static text in newspaper.yml if you don't use those plugins.
- Open sound line: The ITEM_BOOK_PAGE_TURN sound requires Paper 1.16+. Comment out the open_commands block if your server doesn't support it.
