Lucius Verus was Roman emperor from 161 to 169 and ruled jointly with Marcus Aurelius. During his reign he oversaw the Roman campaign against the Parthian Empire in the East, a war that ended in Roman victory and the capture of several major cities. His rule formed part of the first formally recognised joint emperorship in Roman imperial history.
Creative interpretation. There is no historical basis for the designs on the lorica musculata used here. The helmet is based on a presumed legate’s cavalry helmet. The 2D shirt and pants include a tunic, subarmalis, and lorica plumata.
