There is a great risk in accepting PayPal as a payment method for bitcoin.

Summary
Don't accept PayPal, it could potentially ruin your credit score if you can't pay back a negative balance.

Friends and Family can be Chargebacked
As some of you may know there are ways to chargeback friends and family payments on PayPal. I will not go into the details of that as i have already been suspended twice for 'promoting illegal methods and activities'.

The consequence of being chargebavked
Your account will go into negative balance. Some of you may think 'hey mo big deal, i'll just make a real account'. Well that may be true however if you used your real details such as phone, name, bank verification, address. They will track you down, spam you will calls for weeks then put a debt to your name. Actually if you didn't link a bank account you can easily change your address, phone and name with a bypass. I will not go into details about how to do so because of reasins i stated earlier. Oh and if you ever sent paypal proof of id or address, then my friend you are fucked. - PayPal will hold you responsible and send your details off to a debt collectors.

Yeah sure you can make a scam report here but your money is goneee bro.

1) PaypPal's friends and family means you are under no kind of seller protection and the only one who would have to take responsibility is you.

2) Even if the payment was sent through goods and services it would be easier for the fraudster to chargeback + bitcoin exchange is NOT under seller protection.

3) Even if you decided to take legal action against the fraudster it would be very difficult to find him - not impossible though. Simply because bitcoin is a crypto currency and a wallet does not have to be tied to a person's details.

First of all they will ask you for id to prove this. This puts you in a bad position as you will not be able to deny you are the account holder if you decide to change your plea in court.

Even if you do prove you are under 18 that just gives you more time to pay. The debt will be wrapped up for you on your 18th birthday. Happy Birthfay skid.

How can i stay safe?
Do not accept PayPal unless you know the person closely and TRUST him.
Personally for me TRUST is when i have their full name, address and proof of id. c:

Belive me when i say PayPal is not the only method of payment with flaws but it's by far the worst. I might make a thread on 1 or 2 others later.

EDIT: Some countries may be more lenient and may have different procedures. I am from the UK

Old account with -$340, got chargebacked for an f&f payment aswell, its been a couple years and my credit hasn't moved, my ssn, address, and name was all on there. Not sure if they haven't gotten around to it yet or what, but they closed that account so i can't pay it back directly through them- i have no intention on paying it back since what happened to me was fraud. My cashapp was closed yesterday because someone called their bank to false chargeback a payment to me, but cashapp is pretty tame about account closure. They just say add a bank, take what you have, and leave. They will try to charge your linked bank, but if you dont have sufficient funds they just leave it (in my case atleast), and you keep your balance. They don't do that stupid ass 5 months thing that paypal does. PayPal's ridiculous actions, limitations, and overall quality is why ive stopped using them. I called them about a *permanent* limitation for "risk" (i was selling ALOT on ebay), and they deadass ignored me. smh.

Maybe it is your location then. Or you didnt use real address or name. Or maybe you just ignored the letters
