It's a reliable way to judge the size of a plugin, I could charge hourly but overall customers would end up paying more.
My quotes do vary on complexity and there is a good amount of leeway in the line limit too.

Ultimately, how I price my products is my decision.

Yeah it's fine. Since I'm not the only developer as well, it makes it easier to account for (potentially) falsely reported hours from my other developers.
