It’s time that I let this baby go. I poured my heart into this in the beginning. I'm disappointed that my enthusiasm for this project didn’t last.


A little history


ShackledMC philosophy was originally conceived in June of 2017, hoping to bring the true meaning of the word “prison” into a Minecraft server. We then released on august 12. With only $5 spent on advertisement for a soft release (we planned to have a 1 million subscriber youtuber record a few days after), we managed to get 30 players. This was due to the fact that our trailer set a new standard of trailer making, made by the same company who made the legendary StratosMC trailer (Cubed Interactive) Kaso haha. We managed to get $10 worth of donations. Like I said above, my passion to continue the server stopped and the project was not continued until around May 2018. At that point, i felt I had to continue the project. I spent around another $60 or so on new builds, a cool custom plugin, and then, well, I am here.

Our intro plugin. Shackled has a special “introduction” plugin. Basically, players login and download a texture pack. All the pack has in it is custom sounds. We payed a voice actor and everything. If you would like to see this, simply comment your discord, add me, or pm me.

Was there a specific reason that caused the server not to receive donations?

We only had a few 2-4k youtubers record. I think that the players felt that the server wouldn’t succeed due to the fact that we only got 30 players on release. I am sure that with a larger media partner, you would get a fair amount of donations.

GLWS. Decent server, still needs a lot of work but it is pretty unique :) I wish you the best!
