I think that link should give you everything you need, but pretty much it allows you to run a forge server with other plugins. I hope that helped. Also if you need help setting up a forge/sponge server... I can help with that

What kind of server are you trying to make? Factions, skyblock, creative/plotworld....

I'd just stick to Sponge.
It has some nice plugins, the basic features i mean. Investing in a custom jar for like a custom cauldron 1.12 might be expensive and would take, by my experience, years to have a nice and stable core for your server. Would be literally cheaper getting some dev to port your favorite plugins to sponge.

That's what I was saying! Thanks for the extra clarification though
He's more into getting his spigot/bukkit plugins to work with a 1.12 modded server. Wich would also be my wish, sadly this os not possible. Bukkit had some code issues, not sure what exacly issues but i think its copyright relatet, this is why cauldron isnt a thing anymore..
yeah i wish cauldron or thermos would be updated still to 1.12.2

All of them abounded sadly, only SpungeForge active as you can see here https://yivesmirror.com , is still good tho. At-least there is something still supported.
