Psychologically proven, people fear change especially when mixed with nostalgia or emotional feelings.
Nobody nor you ever provided constructive critcism why it's 'not simple' anymore. The game still used 2 mechanics and an incredibly simple but in-depth crafting system. The game is simple in terms of game design. It will forever be unless they start to add more combat styles etc. 6-year olds can play this game. It is simple.

Acknowledge which points? I haven't seen any come by.

MC isn't dying. It has never been bigger, the player base just shifted to other sectors (bedrock / marketplace / minigames). It is still the same game it once was? It's still Minecraft. An extra villager or two will not impact the game or change it beyond recognition. You are scared of change just by that one sentence even if you somehow try to disprove that.

You take pride in that you are supposedly the generation that made MC popular? Right, haha.

The new updates bring back a lot of older players who lost interest as Minecrafts content ran low. That's the reason why people leave Java. There is no new content.

And I've honestly yet had to encounter a true argument that proves anything besides some trendlines taken out of context.
I'll give you some points/questions to constructively argue:
Minecraft is a game that has constantly been receiving updates (changes) throughout the years. If I fear change, and have been playing the game since 2010, why was this fear not prevalent after each update? Why did this fear only seemingly show itself after the release of the 1.9 update?

If the new mechanics are revitalizing the game and changing it for the better, why is Mojang reworking the combat system at the community's request?

If the new updates are truly pulling in more players than ever, why after 3 years since the 1.9 combat updates release are servers still supporting versions of 1.8 and seeing greater amounts of players using the 1.8 version?

When players and youtubers claim that Minecraft is "dying," they are referring to the Java Edition of the game solely. At your own admittance you claim that players are leaving this version of the game for many of the other ones currently out. Alongside this, sales for the Java Edition of the game have been lower as of late. Does that not imply the possibility that the Java Edition will eventually be phased out in favor of the Bedrock Edition?

Following this last question, do you think Mojang would like to phase out the Java Edition in favor of a version of the game where they can ensure that every aspect of the game/community is under their control. (Meaning having the ability to lock everything behind a paywall, control/host all servers, and limit modifications to the game) Keep in mind, all of these things have already been accomplished on console.

Something I should've mentioned and it's my fault for not doing so is that unlike a lot of the people who mindlessly talk trash about the new updates while having never given them a chance, I've spent a lot of time playing them. I don't think that everything that has been released alongside the updates following 1.9 has been bad or counter intuitive. I enjoyed everything in the 1.9 update besides the combat system, I enjoyed the under water update and like the new swimming mechanics. I also like that they improved the villager system and you can now defend villages against raids. This was something I've actually wanted to see in Minecraft ever since they added the trading system to villagers. My biggest problem with these new updates is that they try to jam pack as much content into these updates as humanely possible instead of adding a few impact changes and ensuring that these changes are the best that they can be for launch.

Agree with most points and the pvp system was a mistake they did. It happens. But Minecraft isn't dying. Java is 'dying' because of a lack of new content which honestly is something we are at fault for.

Also, new pvp system which is supposed to happen in 1.15. As they said they were listening but are being controlled by Microsoft.

Furthermore, Java version will never be abandoned it might run behind bedrock as Microsoft wants to prioritise that, shit happens again. Just know, they owe us nothing. We are allowed to make thousands of their service which isn't something that happens a lot in the gaming scene.

I do think that if you bring out something mind-blowing with a great advertisement that a single server can bring life to the Java Edition.

I 100% agree with the fact that the Java Edition needs some new innovative and creative gamemodes. There hasn't been any game changing mode that functions outside the box in a while. In the past people saw The Hunger Games movie and decided to just go and put it into Minecraft. Genius! People enjoyed Skyblock and came up with a situation where you attack other islands. Skywars born, another creative gamemode. We also got gamemodes like EggWars and Bedwars which were unique in their own right.

I also do agree people are trying to relive the glory days by recreating the servers they once loved and by doing so recreating the same generic server over and over. That's why when people who are apart of the PvP community are whining about the new updates I usually tend to ignore them because they genuinely refuse to accept any of the changes and want to live in the past. Hell there worse than anyone else when it comes to this, they don't even like 1.8

I think that's a little bit of hypocrisy to constantly cry that mojang doesn't release any new content to minecraft and when it does complain that it's too much. If you don't like the new updates go a few versions back. Most servers still support 1.8.
