1.8.8 PaperSpigot + ProtocolSupport

Hey everyone,

I'm simply looking for a version of 1.8.8 PaperSpigot that works with ProtocolSupport.

The 1.8.8 PaperSpigot versions I've found don't function with ProtocolSupport and kicks players at random moments (it's a known bug).

I don't know why you would want protocol support for a 1.8.8 server. It's usually used for 1.12 servers to allow older clients or join.

Some people are distributing a patched PaperSpigot. But you'd be better off just using TacoSpigot instead - TacoSpigot is a fork of PaperSpigot, and they patched their 1.8.8 server so that the incompatibility with ProtocolSupport was fixed.

EDIT: We now recommend that users seeking to support 1.7 clients on a 1.8.8 server make use of ViaRewind instead, as that plugin is currently fully supported. More information can be found in the header of our old versions page.

Protocol Support is not the greatest plugin. It works best on 1.12, but even then it has some issues. I would recommend using ViaRewind and Viaversion to allow 1.7.X-1.12.X to join your 1.8.8 server, personally, that is how I have configured all of my servers.
