Lots of water flowing will cause major lag to the server, especially lots of water flowing off of walls all at once.

Tile entities (hoppers) are in the 40,000 range and are checked our anticheat. If these, along with chests, could work the same way as a hopper/chest while looking like a block/non tile entity it would be ideal.

Why are the tile entities checked by the anticheat? Just curious as I think a better optimization could be made in the anticheat rather than spigot

The anticheat requires checking all entities, although that isn't the only issue. 40,000 tile entities also causes lag by itself.

Edit: Also, I'm not looking for a new spigot if I gave off that impression. "1.8.8 TacoSpigot" was just so people know what version I'm looking to have plugins made for.

You could look through patches for paperspigot and see if any of them need backported. Are you looping through every single entity? I think in the spigot config there is an option to lower the tick rate of tile entities

Which anticheat are you using out of curiosity? By default, such behavior should not be done if it is properly made.

Spartan Anti-Cheat
I’ll be entirely straightforward with you: what needs to change is the anticheat, not the spigot.

Despite how much I appreciate Vagdedes as a person, I don’t believe Spartan is yet to be a viable option for performance. Perhaps look into GodsEye if you wish budget, or JI v6 when it comes out. If you wish a more enterprise grade solution you know my discord :)
