a big tip for prisonmines is to have them closed off so you can't see out of them from the sides. the top can be left open.
Even a wall of black wool will usually be enough. My tip would be to add another 5 blocks of detail on top of what you have, then surround it all with //walls of black wool or dark oak (or whatever fits the palette).
