"I have an issue, and would like responsible and mature community feedback. My issue pertains to the usage of single word and short breathed replies. I believe that in a forum environment, one should be expected to voice their opinion using chains of coherent sentences. This isn't IRC or SMS messaging, and texting acronyms should be reserved for those services. My suggestion to the administration, and a general call to action for the community is to cease the use of these single worded, ambiguous and terse responses. My proposed solution to the administration for enforcing the current ban on epigrammatic sentences and responses would be to impose a minimum character limit when responding to a post or creating a thread. Please take my proposition into consideration, and understand that it is in the best wishes of the community and for our reputation to remain sophisticated and professional in appearance.

Regards,
Chapo"

:^)

(If you have an issue regarding the usage of under emphasized ideas, and writing in a forum environment, please be sure to "practice what you preach" and convey your suggestion in a mature and professional manner)

lol to stop people replying with one word
One word says a lot. If someone is suggesting something for example that is utterly ridiculous I simply reply "No" because it is such an awful idea that I shouldn't even have to explain myself. It should be self explanatory. Content intended to post farm such as replying "k," "haha," "lol" is already not allowed and should be reported. I see no need for this suggestion; however, it isn't an "utterly ridiculous" suggestion so I explained my position instead of responding "No."

With all of the members acting like staff telling everyone what to do...
When someone replies with a single word, it will get quoted with:
'SAYING ONE WORD IS AGAINST THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!'

I think a better suggestion would be to make a minimum character amount for each post, something around 15 or 25 should be good.

Why do we need limits though?
You know people will still go around that.

We already have rules against meaningless posts. Would this 1 word rule also mean that people can't just post gifs in a post? Quite a few of my posts are just gifs.
It shouldn't. A picture is worth a thousand words. Just multiply the number of frames I that gif by 1000 and you'll find how many words it's worth.
