I wanted some opinions on which card would be better. I was originally looking at the 1050 Ti, however, I'm looking at the 1060 now. Not sure if it's worth it to spend more to get the 1060. Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Well worth it, and get the 6g, if you are looking for a 3g then save your money adn go for the 1050ti. Overclocking your 1060 can get you into the 1070 range

Looking at the priceo f the gpu, its more than I paid for my strix. I would hold off from building an ew pc for a few months whislt gpu prices die down. They are prety insane rn

GTX 1060, I got the 1050 Ti and it was a mistake, 100% worth the extra money because it is a huge difference from the two. Not to mention overclocking the 1060 will give you a much bigger difference. Especially good if you want to go into 144hz as well. 1050 Ti is still really good, but 1060 is just a better value.

EDIT - Also I would say that the 3GB or 6GB, the difference between the two is more how much visual detail is being processed on games -- unless your playing on all Ultra settings then go with 3GB

Yeah I've noticed, I'm pretty sure it's from crypto currency mining? Been debating on waiting or just buying it now as it would still be a massive upgrade from my current setup.

I had a 1070 and went to a 1080ti

Tbh a 1060 would be more then a enough, I don’t use close to what my 1080ti is capable of

Good to know, will most likely go with the 1060 as it seems like the best option for me currently. Thanks everyone for the recommendations.

1060 6GB is the way to go, without any overclocking I can still run Witcher III at max settings at 50-55 fps, which might be less than the desirable 60+ fps, but it's still pretty damn sweet.

1050 ti is a budget/portable option, for if you have little money or need a relatively low-energy laptop

Computer noob here who wants to build a pc this summer. I was told to go with the 1050 ti (4gb) over the 1060 (3gb) because the 1050ti has an extra GB of ram, does it really make that much of a difference? I'm probably sticking with the 1050 ti since I'm just going to be running csgo and a 1050ti is more than enough for that but I'm curious to know if spending the extra like $20 would make a major difference or not in the event that some other games catch my eye on steam.

Edit: forgot that I wanted to leave some constructive criticism regarding the build. The ryzen possessor comes with a cpu cooler, is it really worth spending more on another? Ryzen's prossessor has thermal paste already on it so again why waste extra money on that? You could also save a few dollars switching to a 450w power supply.

I was recommended the 1050 Ti as well. I would probably be fine with a 1050 Ti, however, I'm trying to future proof it as much as I can within my budget. For the power supply, I again wanted to be sure it would be sufficient later on. As for the fan, I was planning on adding a different fan for slight improvement, which is why I added more thermal paste. I've heard the stock cooler is fine but wanted to see if I gain any performance in overclocking. Best of luck with your build later on as well!
