2D Character Sprite Drawing

Hello.

I am currently working on a 2D side-view game and need a character sprite drawn.
It has to include:
- Facing/jumping left
- Facing/jumping right
- Walking left (sprite)
- Walking right (sprite)

I am not too fussed about the hair and clothes etc as long as it looks appealing.

The current plan for the model is for it to be 24 by 48 pixels but I am not sure about whether that can look good. I'd like it to be semi-complex, a little bit like Terraria players are.
