true, but at that point i would need to make about 1-2 k back with this to cover the printer. I will see if there would be another way to do this.

I'm not sure, but maybe because skins are made for minecraft characters, selling a character like figure, with a custom skin might not be okay with them. I bet you could get away with random skins, but as soon as you printed a Steve skin I bet you'd receive a cease and desist letter.

Well you can make that stuff, but legally I believe you have to have written permission to do so from Mojang. Being as how your product, would be worthless, and or would have never been made, if Minecraft never existed. It'd be making money off the brand that Mojang built.
Minershoes sells these 3D cutouts with your skin on it for like $25 :/
But not all skins are made by mojang, so seeing that most are public for downloading i would not see a problem with doing that.

Even if he did do it, would NOT be worth it.
It'd take 4+hrs to complete 1, it's cost about $15 in plastic per.
Not to mention the cost of paint, the tools, and the skills needed to paint it decently.
The price of the 3D printer as well.
So if you worked for free, it'd cost about $20 each to make.
If you pay yourself /hr, it'd cost about $70 each to make. Assuming you pay yourself minimum wage.
Just because another company does it doesn't mean you can without asking. They probably have permission from Mojang, probably because they asked. Come on guys, use those pink plushy things behind your eyeballs.
