Okay here me out but I thought this was pretty smart.

Recently with the account lock-waves, a lot of people have been losing money. (Including MCM due to people not wanting to buy premium)

I think I figured out a way to counter this, however.

1.) Make the account section viewable for premium+ only temporarily. I know this will stop some sales, but it's better than losing an entire account.

2.) Give Premium users the ability to delete their own threads rather than Supreme. You could also just make an auto thread-deleter that deletes a thread after it's marked sold, which you can turn on or off.

3.) Make the association system not viewable to other viewers, (i.e let people have to have the account associated before they sell it like it is now, but only staff can see who has accounts associated, not other members) If staff truly aren't giving out names to Mojang for them to be blocked, then this + #4 will create a huge blow to Mojang lock waves.

4.) Users/people should be allowed to/put asterisks (*) in their thread titles & threads themselves. If people want to know what the account name is, they can PM the user.

I'm pretty sure if all of these are in place, Mojang will not be able to (or will struggle to greatly) lock accounts that have/are being sold. If all else fails just ban Swedish IPs. Kappa

Leave your thoughts below, thanks!

EDIT: Idea #1 has been implemented. It seems like MCM's trying to do something. However, as I said later on in the thread, a better idea would be to make it so that instead of you having to purchase the premium upgrade, you should have to reach a certain message amount. This would completely eliminate ban evaders, as well as Mojang since they'd be caught before they reach this message amount.

For example, make it so access to the Semi-OG section requires 300 messages, access to the Cape Section requires 500 messages, and access to the OG section requires 750 messages. This way, more active users can go into each of these sections without having a $10 paywall.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If you were to block out the title of your thread with asterisks, you could not give hints on your thread to get rid of the risk of someone figuring out the name without messaging you.

Sure but that's just making every single person buying OGs message every single person selling them

Then there's the minecraft accounts list that shows verified accounts on every profile, which would need to be removed or given the same hints

Yea if you read my suggestion at the start, you'd see that I suggested a way to hide those so only staff can see them.

I upgraded my account today. It actually took me like a minute to figure out how to upgrade since the button blends in with the page and other buttons.

Maybe make it stand out more by coloring it green or whatever so new users see it and normal users remain aware about it.

1. Bad idea, mojang can buy premium or supreme
2. Hiding them would be better (people with the link can still see it but you can't find it in the list) so buyers and sellers can look back at the thread for details if needed
3. Very bad idea, you won't be able to see the IGN to know if it's a banned account, locked account, or scammed account
4. That's a good idea
Response to #1
This would stop Mojang from just lurking and banning accounts like that.

Response to #2
Fair enough

Response to #3:
Staff can confirm whether or not that account’s locked or a scam account, and if you PM the user you can figure that out yourself.

Response to #4:
Ok, thanks.

1. If they can't lurk they'd just use Marc's account or brand new accounts
3. Staff don't do it, or half the scams wouldn't happen, and if the user's selling a locked or scam account I doubt they'll tell you the truth
Well the surpreme/premium paywall could stop regular members snitching to Mojang I’d think.

Just learnt now that my friend's account he bought almost 4 months ago was locked due to being sold on here. It's a real shame that Mojang is doing this, and my heart goes out to all of you who are experiencing the same loss.

There is no point to making this premium+ only.. Accounts that have been sold a while ago are getting locked. Mojang isn't dumb.. They've been collecting information.

I actually saw a really smart idea on this thread saying this:

Allow people with like 1k+ messages to say.
This idea was followed up by Proudly who said:

As Solicite said, the forum permissions should be based on the age of the account and/or the amount of messages an account has, more leaning towards the amount of messages. I know MC-Market would want it premium, of course, it's a way for them to make more money, but having a restriction based on messages or similar will filter out a lot of accounts who are either ban evading or just fake bidding. Plus if the reason is to prevent locking accounts, Mojang staff would rather pay $10 than post XXX amount of messages to gain access.

I feel like doing this instead of making a $10 paywall would be way smarter. I have a feeling that a Mojang member would be caught before (or wouldn't have the time) they reach 1,000 messages. (or whatever message requirement there would be.)

This would also eliminate a lot of ban evaders from selling there accounts.

For example, you could have like a 350 message requirement to see the Semi-OG account section, 650 for the Cape account section, and 1,000 messages for access to the OG section.
