Skript is a plugin that allows you to customize Minecraft's mechanics using english code. It's basically the same thing, except lightweighted, and in english. Still takes time to learn, extremely fun, and you can make some pretty cool stuff!

Skript is very easy but learning a proper programming language is useful for other things too

It's all in practice, practice, and one last thing called practice.

If you want to learn, I would suggest reading books (about Java or whatever language you chose on learning) It would be the easiest way because someone directly teaching you may not help you at all and would be a complete waste of money and time.
