Well if you're a fairly active member to Mc-Market you will recall that one thread about Mick stepping down and claiming that Mc-Market was going to be better than ever during 2016! Well here I'm going to just reflect the good and the bad that have occurred since this has happened.

Good:
*Appointed new scam report staff
*Banned Linux
*Improved multiple bugs and added new features to the site

Bad:
*Added EXTREME moderation to both the forums and the shoutbox through SB Mods, excessive chat rules etc
*Lost a weeks worth of Mc-Market data (Including PM's, ratings, and possibly more!)
*Rearranged the site's format causing sections such as General Discussion and Appraisals to decrease SIGNIFICANTLY in posts and viewers
*Multiple Riots have occurred since all the events previously listed, multiple exit scams, advertisements, and competitor sites being created

Now there was (some) good, but I the negatives out-way the positives so far.

Post your opinions down below or if you feel something should be added to the list!

I think the categories being redone was long overdue if anything. I was reporting at least 5 people a day for posting I the wrong section prior, it's been reduced to 2-3 since then.

I have no vested interest in Linux being here, I don't even know him... but I do have a vested interest in siding with what is right. Mick made a deal with Linux, and he was banned essentially right after they got what they wanted out of him. That's not right, and I'd consider that shady and bad, regardless of his past. You don't fucking promise someone access back to a site, and then turn around and stab him in the back after he gave you information.

That's the McM staff team in a nutshell unfortunately.

I understand that. I'm just responding to your choice to include that as "good". It really isn't considering the circumstance, plus he as banned to begin with, so you're giving them credit for really nothing.

Hi. I'm just going to respond to a few things on this thread if you don't mind.

*Added EXTREME moderation to both the forums and the shoutbox through SB Mods, excessive chat rules etc
We have had these rules for a long time and the only thing that has changed is that we have enforced them. It would be more appropriate to change this to something along the lines of the rules being too strict, but they are strict for a reason.

*Lost a weeks worth of Mc-Market data (Including PM's, ratings, and possibly more!)
Yes we did and we truly apologise for this, it was a mistake that was made by us and it is completely inexcusable. An announcement about this will be coming in an hour or two.

*Rearranged the site's format causing sections such as General Discussion and Appraisals to decrease SIGNIFICANTLY in posts and viewers
This was done to emphasise that we are a marketplace forum, not a discussion forum. We ideally want to be focused around a marketplace and also have discussions, but right now we are a discussion forum with a marketplace. It's just about trying to get our market more active as that is what is most important to us.

*Multiple Riots have occurred since all the events previously listed, multiple exit scams, advertisements, and competitor sites being created
Yes there were these exit scams, advertisements, and competitors but I just want to say that most of those were due to Mark's demotion.

The thing is, Mick has done a lot of things that for sure were in his control. He demoted K3, for no reason
That is completely fair to say and is correct. If I could go back in time and change that decision, I would.

and demoted Anthony for one minor offense.
Lets put this into perspective, shall we? Anthony R released a private discussion I had been having with him to the people we were discussing, this made me lose trust in him that he could keep anything I say private. I see no reason to have a member of staff be a staff member if they are going to be giving information to people who hack accounts, ddos others, and scam. If I can't trust Anthony with everything I have to say, then that means I would be secretive to the whole staff team which is not at all what I want.

My point is, Mick needs to involve the community more in the site decisions.
I can absolutely guarantee to you right now that the community is going to be far more involved in the future.

I still think that the community should vote on staff
Having staff vote for staff will result in the selected staff being chosen through a popularity contest, not from what people really believe. I wouldn't be surprised if someone paid other people to vote for them in secret to be staff or for someone to try and spoof their results through one way or another. It is the small percentage of people in the community that ruin this option for the others.

I'm not trying to criticize you Mick, just a suggestion.
I appreciate you saying this completely, and if you wish to criticise me I will happily accept it and learn from it.
