Yes. You read it right. I want people to post their opinions here or PM me their experiences/opinions with hosts to NOT USE.

I am going to use this to filter out hosts that have standing good reputation in a mass's eyes and use them for a 3-4gb server to run a randomized skyblock plugin I got made for free.

My friends and I (about 8 of us in total) will be playing and fucking around on it lol. Basically I'm starting a server from Wilburt's video on youtube of the "Randomizer Skyblock Challenge" series.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

MCProHosting - Not bad by any means, just overpriced
They think that they can get away with charging like $100 a month for a server. Keep in mind that It's shared so if someone completely breaks the entire node there is nothing that can be done about it. You'd be better off getting a Deti then paying for a McProHosting server.

I think of them as the Apple of Minecraft Server hosting companies, they have been endorsed by many of the big names in the Minecraft scene and have been in operation for a long time. Sometimes, they have a booth at a major Minecraft convention such as Minefaire in which they receive a lot of brand recognition.

Basically any server host that would dare require you to pay for infinite player slots.

Shockbyte. In my experience in working with them, the hardware and price is good, but of course, the support sucks. To actually get a decent response and within a reasonable time, I have to bring it up several times in both discord and live chat. The official ticket response time is listed at 24-48 hours, some people have mentioned that they have been waiting months for responses.

They are not bad. They do have some future plans that will make them very good.

This was 2 years ago but I ran a fairly small server through omgserv and the uptime was terrible. Everything ran good enough for what I needed, but I felt a lot of downtime. Could be changed by now, but who knows, better safe than sorry.

BeastNode - Same as MCProHosting (I had a wonderful experience with them)

MCProHosting is actually shit and they oversell their servers, or at least, they did when I worked for them.

McPh is one of the only mc hosts that pay staff livable wages and has been around for so long and have built up a reputation to the point where they can charge that much and still get more clients than 75% of other Minecraft hosts.

Only the higher up staff gets paid "Livable Wages".

Another one to avoid would be Nitrous Networks- I don't even think they know what DDOS Protection is.
