Earlier today, I was casually driving to the gym to get a workout in on a beautiful afternoon day. It seemed to me like a casual drive in my 2001 Honda Civic but as time progressed on, it was much more than that.
I witnessed a death right in front of my eyes and it was the scariest thing I have ever seen in my 18 years on this Earth. He was making a right turn out of the parking lot and I was turning in. The speeding car on my left hit him going like 45 in a 25 zone. I cannot sleep just thinking that this middle-aged man got his life taken away in the blink of an eye. It hurts me and I didn't even know the guy.
The car accident I witnessed a few hours ago made me realize that life can be taken away at any moment and you need to appreciate every second you have on this Earth. Over the last few hours, I personally have told my loved ones how much I love them and appreciate them. I've researched things I've always wanted to do and I'll do them as soon as I can. For me, I'll no longer care about the little things, but rather the experiences I get from this world. I don't want to waste my life in a cubicle only to have it come to an end realizing I never did anything I wanted to do and be terrified like that man today. I want to do things that will make my life worth it and I encourage everyone reading this to do the same. I'm not encouraging you to quit sitting in front of a computer, but I do encourage you to live your life to the fullest. Experience things, and get out there.
I just needed a platform to vent. I hope all of you are doing well and are in good health, and never have to go through what I went through a few hours ago.
