Welcome to the spigot guide! I’ll be updating this post every week to add new content to it. Sadly, there is a limit to the characters so once I’m done I’ll move it to the official wiki!
Here goes nothing!
Always wanted to code minecraft plugins? Wanted to become a programmer overnight but you’re too fucking stupid? Let me break you a reality:
You are either in or out. You WILL become good overnight, but that’s only after WEEKS/MONTHS of pain. You reach a point where coding becomes EXTREMELY simple until new challenges arise. It’s never ending, and that’s the fun in it.
Now, let’s first check your bases. Please follow the following youtube video to learn about the basic of java. You will need to learn the following:
- Variables (Boolean, Integer, String, Double, Float, Rand)
- Maps (List, ArrayList, HashMap, WeakHashMap (Optional)
- Getters and Setters (Look at lombok if you wish to save time)
If you read the following and had no clue what they were: you are doing something wrong and NEED it get these stuck in your brain. Squeeze the info in there and then we can talk java.

Now let’s code!
First up: you want to fire up IntelliJ. No eclipse won’t do. Please not eclipse. Don’t say that word again or I will murder your computer and fry your wifi router.
Download link: https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/ (select the community idea)
Now we’re good to go! Let’s get rocking!
First off: Creating a project:
SOME INFO IS HIGHLY INACCURATE DUE TO ME BEING ON MY PHONE. IT’S 01:28 AM, I’LL FINISH IT IT TOMORROW OK.
