I'm sure a good amount of you have been extremely annoyed when a brand new user leaves you a negative rep to either attempt to harm your sales, or just doing it to be a jerk. I believe mcm should have some sort of a plugin that makes it so that your account must either be a certain age, or you must have a certain amount of rep yourself in order to actually leave negative reputation on other users profile. This will prevent spammers from going on vpn's/proxies and creating tons of accounts to essentially negative rep bomb your profile.

If I'm correct which I'm 90% sure I am. New users can't even leave rep. They have to be an "Active user" to leave rep. "Active user", Not have a rank but just be active. And quite frankly I've never seen a new user be toxic and give me negative rep out of nowhere. Maybe you/they did something to deserve the negative rep in the first place like trashing thread, arguing or just acting like an overall child.

So you wouldn't be able to +rep other users in a deal even if they've given you +rep until you've reached a certain point? That doesn't make sense to me.

That doesn't make sense. You're more likely to have people abusing positive reputation than negative reputation. Negative reputation is mentioned far more negatively than positive reputation but that's simply because almost nobody would complain about a positive reputation they've received. So if rules are being applied, they should definitely be applied to positive and negative.

Maybeeeeee both parties must have a conversation before giving a rep to eachother.

Sometimes a conversation isn't necessary to see the toxicity of a person that would warrant a warning to any potential buyers.
